I haven't got nearly as much board building done this year. Mainly due to being laid of here in Munich, and now having new work in Basel Switzerland. I'm enjoying the new work, but with the travel don't have as much free time as I used to.

Anyway, to my current builds.

Last year I built some wide and very light powder skis. They were awesome to ski, but I ran into something pretty hard, and cracked one... so I am replacing those with a more conventional core shape.

Paulownia and Bamboo.

Dimensions = 1,85m long

141 / 107 / 123

Using 2mm tip and tail spacers for the first time. Lets see how that goes.

Spent more time on the cores than usual. I hope the skis turn out as sexy as the cores look.

Second pair is a touring ski for me.

Paulownia / Ash cores.

Length = 1,74

136 / 90 / 117

Ready for layup

More to come

Ok, first pair out of the press a few minutes ago.. Quite happy with them. One tip spacer looks like it wasn't sitting perfectly. Not to worry, it won't affect the ski performance.

Did the powder skis and managed to get the first coat of high gloss on them..

With the powder skis I again had a bit of a problem with getting the topsheet exactly straight.

Cores are Perfect this time- I'll perfect that in the future.

Here is the pressing, showing the nice rocker in the skis.

awesome, really love the design!

Simply gorgeous. I know what you mean about getting topsheets absolutely perfectly centered. I've got it down pretty good now but I still design my graphics so if they are a couple mm off it is unnoticeable. Even if they are laid perfectly sometimes they move a little when pressing, just like my VDS along the edges.

really good looking topsheet work Akiwi, touring skis are really classy looking!
