I have not heard of them, but I did talk to these guys briefly a couple years ago. They recommended epovex but I wasn't totally sold on it.

If I remember the price was like $60 for a quart or 24oz, I'm not really sure. I do remember it being a little steep.
This was a while ago maybe the price has gone down since.

Couldn't find it so I sent a request for price list on the epovex, arovex 180.
As well as a question as to how their products could improve my process....They love that crap.

What is a quart in kg?
A quart is about a litre?
I just paid $312 for 7kg resin/hardener combo (Sicomin), enough for 7 pairs of skis.
I've been rolled, but have no other real choice. Last time I bought it it was about $240 (2 years back) but took 4 months to come from Europe.
Just some irrelevant musings, sorry
by the way that epovex does sound pretty interesting - and imagine the marketing hype you could create if your skis were held together by carbon nanotubules!

Ouch bro! We just did about that much for 20 pairs. might be worth looking into importing from this side of the Tasman?! (with your expensive aussie dollars too)

What brand epoxy are you guys using? The stuff I buy is a recognised industry ski epoxy.

It's brewed up by a company over here supplying the yachting industry - there are a few board sport companies using it I understand. HPR20 is the really catchy name. flip me your email if you want the datasheet.

Kingswood use that brand. They use HPR2D according to their website. It's rubberised epoxy. I was going to try and get some but not sure about shipping. I paid $75 shipping in my epoxy charge inc a $40 hazardous materials charge, so was a bit worried about how much to freight it from NZ. I'll watch your progress and might try some down the track.

The Epovex liquid adhesive is priced at $68.77/qt. kit; $276.40/gal. kit; and $1,412.05/5 gal. kit.
As we are a small company, all of our prepreg is made to order and 25 lbs. is the minimum order size. We have commonly made 300 gsm (9 oz.) carbon unitape for other customers and have charged $49.00/lb. for 200 lb. orders. Smaller orders will be higher priced of course
We have never made any triax or biax prepreg in either glass or carbon but we could if you desired that.

you have to think for five times the price of QCM(formerly) stuff, is it making a ski or board five times better, or more valuable?
is there anything you'll be able to remove as a result to make up some of that cost?
it might make the pop last 5 times as long?
