i have decided to re-invent my bladder system.
I have been using a shredder valve connection to my fire hose. it has worked pretty good, but has been leaking a couple psi per hour lately.
i am attempting to directly connect my fire hose to my air compressor like i have seen in the photos around the site. my current idea is to use a coupler system and use 2 washers on the pipe thread. my concern is the washers; the shelf on the couplings is not very big that is holdings the washers, and plus the brass probably is meant to hold that kind of pressure on the washers. the threads are good to go, but the washers on the outside, is no exactly made for it.
anyways i should probably post some pics to show what i am talking about. but i wanted to see if anyone can
do you have an suggestions trying to figure out the best way to install a connector to the fire hose bladders. thanks

Check out happymonkeysnowboards wiki site, its got great pics of how Mike does his hose connections, I used the identical system and its a perfect seal.

Ditto. Mike (Happy Monkey) has all of the McMaster part numbers so it's easy to order everything. I did exactly what he did (as many others have done now) and it's a perfect seal.

Thanks guys, that "Through-wall Coupling" part is the exact part that i did not know existed. or just could not find at any of the local hardware stores....
although i suspect that hardware sales in bellingham would have probably had that part. tacoma hardware stores arent the best

You should embrace McMaster-Carr. I have yet to find a single thing they don't have, they get way too much of my money...

I done my firehose connection with plumbing fittings and gasket cut out from rubber. Only missing from this picture second small diameter rubber gasket (I use garden hose gasket for that) it going between two bigger gaskets and get squeezed into the hole. Tested up to 70 PSI no problem
all supplies from local lumberyard and scraps laying around my garage. No McMaster-Carr here yet
