It hasn't snowed here in what seems like forever. Is anyone getting any pow anywhere?

unknownSun Jan 16, 2011 5:05 am

We got a half decent storm in new england last week. Spent my honeymoon at sugarloaf and the midweek storm got what looked like 4-6. First pow ive seen all year personally.

Yeah got about 16-18 inches on tuesday/wednesday here finally. Good ol fashion Nor'eastern storm. First decent storm in a 2-3 yrs. Seems like a lot of snow storms lately have been coastal (Boston, NYC, Cape Cod). What a waste of perfectly good snow.

damnit man. Im coming to tahoe this week. the last three years they have been blower storm days. I missed 20 inches 2 weeks ago and now its starting to snow here and I have to leave and go to no snow?

Killin me.

Sorry MM. The forecast doesn't look good for new snow but there is plenty on the ground and there will be sunny skies. For some reason we always get a warm spell this time of year which we refer to as Juneuary.

On the plus side, the southfacing aspects are corning up nicely and there is some great skiing going on.

No deep pow here but it's east coast... got about 16in of pure champagne over the last week. Went for some easy touring yesterday and had great time... only problem is it was 16in of super light, fluffy snow on top of... well on top of nothing. I "resurfaced" my skis pretty badly but it was well woth it !

P-Tex time now !

We are supposed to get a foot of snow in the mountains today but it has been pretty mellow since the first of year.

unknownMon Jan 17, 2011 8:30 am

its trying to snow up here but mainly just blowing around

we have had pretty consistent snowfall all year, def around 150%of normal.

plenty of pow for research and development, just gotta end up in the backcountry behind a snowmobile to get it all!

Our snow is fast disappearing.

Last week I had more than a meter in my yard but 5 days of +5c and pouring rain has washed it away.

Its raining to the top of the mountains

Was pretty good last week though 40cms of light fresh!

Dr D, methinks we're screwed for another couple of weeks.

This blog has been quite accurate all winter: http://tahoeweatherdiscussion.com/

Well at least the mountain biking has been fantastic down here. I just imagine I'm carving big arcs in the deep fluff while I'm flying down the muddy trails on my Mojo.

Same here, about 4-5. The snow was very light. Now it's a mix of sleet/freezing rain. Everything looks like a glazed donut.... mmmm donuts...

JVG, You live near Gunstock? I lost a glove there...

unknownTue Jan 18, 2011 10:28 pm

I went sledding today and it pretty much sucked. I'm going mountain biking in Auburn tomorrow on my Enduro and quitting skiing. At least for a day.

I just finished up my wife's big powder skis so it HAS to snow soon.

Way to get after it strange! Enjoy the new boards.

Still nothing forecast in Tahoe for the next 10 days. At least the mountain biking an hour from my house was awesome today.

unknownThu Jan 20, 2011 3:30 pm

unknownThu Jan 20, 2011 9:12 pm

Wow. I gotta say that some rough snow right there. Skied alpine meadows. Great terrain. Found some stuff in the corn cycle. Went totally ob with no idea. Little walk. I will definately return.

unknownTue Feb 01, 2011 4:43 am

a whopping 15min from there actualy, its the mt i call home.

unknownTue Feb 01, 2011 8:46 am

More snow today and tomorrow. We've been getting regular snow fall.... 6 - 8 inches at a time and more depending on location...about time! Snow amounts range all over the map from 4 - 8 to 16-22 depending on the wintery mix line. Could get sleet and freezing rain tomorrow... I hope not. Our little mtn/hill is having the best skiing in years.

unknownTue Feb 01, 2011 9:09 am

Ive got about 2" outside at work right now, rather depressing knowing i cant get out on a board untill sunday at the earliest

unknownTue Feb 01, 2011 10:26 am

6 inches in 6 hrs so far. Coming down at a good clip, nice and fluffy too.

unknownTue Feb 01, 2011 9:04 pm

They're predicting 30" of fresh here in NM for this storm!

Definitely playing hookie from work tomorrow to take my new big boy skis out....

unknownWed Feb 02, 2011 1:17 pm

We received a few inches of new snow on Sunday but it sure is icy underneath still. I've got a hard snow ski in the works and I'm putting the edges on tonight with the cores almost done. I also washed my van to coax some storms our way.

unknownThu Feb 03, 2011 12:15 am

Still no snow in San Diego. <grin>

unknown

Has it ever been?

I was there 5 years ago, on a conference (just one week), but I got a nice feeling you have a perfect climat there. Maybe not for snow?...

unknown

O yeah, I expect the snow will fall in San Diego when the Titanic returns to New York Harbor and we're all invited to Hasni Mubareks inaugural ball.

unknownFri Feb 04, 2011 1:15 am

Yeah, that will be the day!

unknownMon Feb 07, 2011 10:21 am

33 inches in the last week at vail!

and its still comin down.

im in NM and going to head to santafe ski valley tomorrow and maybe taos the next day??? anyone around to ride?

unknownFri Feb 18, 2011 11:34 pm

Ok, so we don't need any more snow right now. Over 7 feet in the last three days, still snowing, and my 130 waisted skis aren't wide enough.

All it took was for me to design a hard snow ski for the storm cycle to return. My graphics were supposed to be delivered today but FedEx was on a weather hold according to the website. Oh well, I don't think I'll be needing them any time soon.

unknownThu Mar 03, 2011 1:22 am

Up in tahoe now and its snowing. Its wet but its falling lightly.
